Are Schedules part of the Constitution?
The Schedules of the Indian Constitution are an integral part of the constitution. The Schedules are used to provide details about certain provisions in the Constitution, such as the list of states and union territories, the distribution of seats in the Parliament and state legislatures, and the administration of scheduled areas and tribes. Schedules are very important and play a significant role in the functioning of the Indian government.
Are all the Laws part of the Constitution of India?
No, not all laws in India are part of the Constitution. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, but it does not contain all of the laws that govern the country. There are many other laws that are passed by the Parliament of India and the state legislatures. These laws, commonly known as ordinary law, are subordinate to the Constitutional law (laws that are directly part of the Constitution), and they must be consistent with its provisions. The Constitutional law is the foundation of India’s governance and citizenship, defining the roles and duties of the Parliament, the executive, the judiciary and the people.
